Our members are adult amateur woodwind players. The two ensembles that make up the Bloomsbury Music Group provide opportunities for us to develop our musical ability and ensemble skills in relaxed and informal settings. We are building a varied repertoire of woodwind ensemble music and we regularly perform in public.
Both ensembles rehearse weekly in Bloomsbury. Find out more about how to join, the music we play and our concerts from this web site. The main benefit of membership is the opportunity to play music regularly in an ensemble.
There are many other ways for wind players to make music together as shown by the long list of opportunities on our links page.
The Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble is open to players of these instruments: flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe and bassoon together with alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. The Ensemble rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings in the Coram Band Room.
The Bloomsbury Band is made up of players of flute, clarinet and bass clarinet. The Band rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at Lumen URC in Bloomsbury.
