At the end of the last BWE summer rehearsal in July, our chair, Colin, paid tribute to all that Sarah and Céline have done for BWE and for the Bloomsbury Music Group. 

Sarah has played the flute with BWE for very many years and throughout most of that time has acted as treasurer for the whole group. She was a member of the BWE committee when it decided to set up a second ensemble - now the Bloomsbury Band. Her expertise has helped to ensure that the finances of the group have been on a sound footing. Thanks to her efforts we have been able to get the maximum benefit from gift aid and orchestra tax relief. As a result we have been able to commission a rich variety of arrangements and new compositions.

Céline has played the flute and piccolo with BWE since 2015. As a committee member she has given brilliant support to our chair and music directors thus ensuring that concert programmes, rehearsals and other activities of BWE all have happened as they should. As membership secretary she has kept BWE up to strength with a high standard of performance.
