We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Ed Gertler as the new Director of Music for the Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble. He will start rehearsing the ensemble from January 2027 for his first concert with us in May.

Ed studied music at the University of Cambridge and had conducting lessons with Sian Edwards at the Royal Academy of Music. He has extensive experience of working with professional and amateur orchestras.

Ed is excited by the prospect of working with BWE to create fantastic musical experiences around his home town of London. 

Meanwhile, members of BWE are looking forward to returning from a summer break to  prepare for the Ensemble's winter concert under the direction of Shea Lolin.
